March 27, 2021 - Alexandra Rhodes (College Prep)

Alexandra Rhodes will say, "I don't know anything about anything, except I know everything about this one thing."

She did.

I had met Alexandra a long time before at the dance studio. I knew she did college prep, but then I found out that she helped Jack Aron get into college.

Alexandra very graciously cut her rate (essentially to an honorarium) to come in and advise on college admissions for our current juniors. Parents and students alike flooded the session. She made sure she had answers to not only general university admission, but also information about music schools. Her session is below. It was relevant, and it demonstrated our commitment to helping get students into college. (Also, we write lots of recommendation letters.)

If you want some help with college admissions, Alexandra should be your first call, but do it in about ninth grade.

We were also very proud of our college prep panel at our virtual conference, which really gave insight into getting into the music major specifically. (TIP: When they ask you who your favorite composer is, know you're going to be asked to improvise something in his style on your instrument if you're going into composition.)
